O.O.H.,my community and me

Vital Max Robert
Since our recent connection facilitated by your initiatives, you and I have built a strong sense of partnership with the goal of rebuilding Carrefour-Feuilles, your viable community. We must acknowledge that since the devastating earthquake of Jan 12, 2010 your initiatives in rebuilding this extensive district has intensified.
Tell you who is Vital Max?
As you mention my name is Vital Max. I am 33 y.o. I was born to a Catholic family of 5 children however our Mom was the sole provider, in other words, we lead a fatherless household. Now I enjoy raising my eight year old son. I lived at Les Cayes, Haiti prior to moving to Port-au-Prince, the capital, fourteen years ago.
Furthermore, I am an ex-seminarian with the Brothers Oblates Mary Immaculate Conception. I completed Classical Studies in 2001. At the University of Port-au-Prince Capua Getion I learned accounting as well as business administration.
Who are we to the residents of Carrefour-Feuilles?
Well we are referring to the 13,000 of us living at Carrefour- Feuilles. I would consider myself a social reformer with the goal of promoting humanitarian efforts. As a community leader for Campeche, I am currently designing programs with other leaders, like Hyppolite Roosevelt, in the rebuilding efforts or elevating this particular district. One of our primary goals is to educate the people. As a team we have identified a list of immediate needs. One for example is keeping a clean environment. As you previuosly mentioned the Jan 12, 2010 earthquake devastated this area. As a result, we are forced to target several areas of life like education, health, social, economic and cultural simultaneously. We welcome your donations, contributions or any support that you can lend to our community, Carrefour-Feuillles.
Actually it is possible due to Mr. Clay Kilgore tiredless endeavors to our cause. Our team acknowledges him tremendously for his vision during his visit to Haiti in the year 2000. Clay envisioned a better futur for our community thus he initiated and organized a non profit organization called Kledev. He is a true visionary as our work continues under his tutelage.
Where is Carrefour-Feuilles?
I will take this opportunity to describe our community called Carrefour-Feuilles , the largest district in Port-au-Prince. It is located north of downtown which connects to a ”slum” area referred to as Morne Hopital. Other surrounding areas are: Sicot, Trou-Lambert, Kay Alfred, Plingue, Croix-des-Preux et Tapis Rouge. In these aforementioned areas, the people live in scarcity daily. To illustrate further, they lack infrastructure, health care access, roads, schools, and a given basic, a clean environment. Moreover, the children residing in this municipality are terrorized by gang related activities, and are routinely exposed to violent acts. They remain fearful and are unable to cope.
Tell you about Organization d’oeuvres Humanitaires?
Organization d’oeuvres Humanitaires or O.O.H. is a project that we, the volunteers, are launching that assist us in cultivating a strategic approach. As you may notice, we are fully commited in the rebuilding efforts of our beloved country, Haiti. We continue to join forces and are growing in numbers. For example we are currently building a favorable partnership or partenariat with Midwest Communication Network Group, Inc. located in Chicago, Ill. Our collaborative effort could be described as a “built to last” one. Since the year 2011 unfolded, Nicole Claude, President of MCNG serves as our devoted Advisor and Coach in the rebuilding efforts of our terre natale. Our continued goal is to focus on the educational as well as health related issues, like the recent Cholera outbreak, for example.
What are your immediate needs in rebuilding the Carrefour Feuilles community?
We are in need of everything like food, drinking water, shelter, education and health care access.
